LETTERA APERTA A VLADIMIR PUTIN
Sia pur con tutto il rispetto, non posso iniziare con Egregio Signor Putin,
perché Egregio nella
nostra cultura italiana equivale ad Illustre, un appellativo che solitamente si
riserva a persone di particolare riguardo. Certo che mi vorrà comunque scusare
per questa franchezza, anche perché essere sincero fa parte della mia etica nei
riguardi di chiunque. Ma venendo al dunque, mi rivolgo a lei perché non riesco
a capacitarmi nel prendere atto ogni giorno di tante morti, sofferenze e
distruzioni nei confronti della popolazione ucraina, ad opera di un esercito
che lei e i suoi sottoposti comanda. Ma qualunque siano le ragioni di politica
interna e/o internazionale, io credo che lei ha ben un altro nemico da
affrontare, ossia la sua coscienza che la orienta a sopprimere, sia pur
indirettamente, vite umane, e infliggendo sofferenze ed umiliazioni a quelle
che… non riesce a sopprimere. Ma chi sono io per dedicarle questa lettera
aperta, e che potenzialmente il mondo intero potrebbe leggere, prima o poi?
Sono un cittadino italiano con difetti al pari di altri miei simili, ma nel
contempo non privo della massima considerazione della vita umana, e mai mi
sognerei di sopprimerla nemmeno se fossi un suo suddito, e per qualunque
ragione. So bene che reggere un Paese come il suo, ricco di storia, di
progressi e dotato di potenza internazionale, ma anche di protagonisti altrettanto
discutibili, non è impresa facile; ma non riesco ad immaginare le ragioni che
hanno determinato la sua dedizione ed ascesa al potere… ma soprattutto
attuandolo con particolare determinazione in questa attuale circostanza. Si sa,
le guerre sono sempre esistite, ma nel corso dei secoli le stesse non hanno
quasi mai risolto e insegnato nulla all’uomo che, tanto per essere
costantemente schietto, si sta comportando come i gamberi: anziché andare
avanti va indietro, un regresso in fatto di concezione umana ed esistenziale,
perché sopprimere un vita o farle del male è sempre una scelta determinata se
non anche premeditata da tempo… Tra i circa 107/110 miliardi di persone che
sino ad oggi hanno popolato il pianeta Terra, non poche a vario titolo hanno
avuto un ruolo come il suo, e quindi tutte accomunate da quel senso di
onnipotenza e relativo comportamento che non fa sconti a nessuno e, a questo
punto, le chiedo: come si sente quando dà determinati ordini ai suoi sottoposti
e questi le riferiscono di averli eseguiti presentandole il conto della
giornata che consiste in un certo numero di morti, feriti e devastazioni del
bene comune? Lei pensa di aver raggiunto un traguardo al punto da garantire un
“valore aggiunto” al suo Paese, e conseguentemente di appagare il suo Ego sino
alla elevazione a catarsi? A ben riflettere il procurare la morte di un nostro
simile, che più appropriatamente possiamo definire nostro fratello, non rientra
nei piani di nessuna religione (estremisti islamici a parte…); inoltre cosa direbbe
se tali azioni dovessero colpire per le stesse ragioni i suoi più cari affetti?
Qualunque sia la sua risposta mi verrebbe difficile crederle e ancor meno
discuterla, ben conscio che i neuroni che comandano il suo pensiero, le sue
scelte e le sue decisioni, sono le “misteriose perle” di cui è dotato,
esattamente come quelle che possediamo tutti noi, con la differenza che le sue
hanno perso limpidezza e valore, tramutandosi in armi micidiali per indebolire
o sopprimere un popolo. Ma non è con la guerra che si combatte la guerra,
signor Putin, bensì con la ragione e lo sforzo di comprendere anche chi ci è
nemico, pur osservando il diritto di azione per legittima difesa… Un tempo
qualcuno disse: «Qui
sine peccato est vestrum, primus lapidem mittat», quindi
lei come il sottoscritto e tutti i nostri simili non rientriamo in questa
locuzione latina, che ha fatto la storia dell’Umanità nel farci comprendere che
tutti si sbaglia e si commette peccato verso sé stessi e verso il prossimo, ma
con l’imperativo di porvi rimedio e di non più commettere. E quando terminerà
questa ecatombe, lenta e onerosa sarà la ricostruzione di un Paese al quale non
manca la solidarietà di altri popoli che, come me, ripudiano ogni azione
bellica con il diritto di vivere nel rispetto delle Leggi della Natura…!
Concludo con un’ultima domanda: le sue attuali scelte sono un diritto o un
peccato cosciente inevitabile? Se mi rispondesse con la massima obiettività,
anche lei sarebbe tra quelli che farebbero parte di un certo girone dantesco e,
data la severità del sommo Dante, lascio a lei stabilire a quale girone
appartenere… senza incontrare a quell’epoca tutti coloro che sono periti sotto
la sua politica… incontrollata.

OPEN LETTER TO VLADIMIR PUTIN
Even with all due respect, I cannot start with Dear Mr. Putin, because
Egregio in our Italian culture is equivalent to Illustrious, a title that is
usually reserved for people of particular respect. Of course he will still want
to apologize for this frankness, also because being honest is part of my ethics
towards anyone. But coming to the point, I turn to you because I cannot manage
to take note every day of so many deaths, suffering and destruction against the
Ukrainian population, by an army that you and your subordinates command. But
whatever the reasons for internal and / or international politics, I believe
that you have another enemy to face, that is your conscience that directs you
to suppress, albeit indirectly, human lives, and inflicting suffering and humiliations
on those who … fails to suppress. But who am I to dedicate this open letter to
you, and that potentially the whole world could read, sooner or later? I am an
Italian citizen with defects like my other fellow men, but at the same time not
without the utmost consideration of human life, and I would never dream of
suppressing it even if I were his subject, and for any reason. I know well that
managing a country like yours, rich in history, progress and endowed with
international power, but also with equally questionable protagonists, is not an
easy undertaking; but I can’t imagine the reasons that led to his dedication
and rise to power… but above all by implementing it with particular
determination in this current circumstance. We know, wars have always existed,
but over the centuries they have almost never solved and taught anything to man
who, just to be constantly frank, is behaving like crayfish: instead of going
forward, he goes backwards, a regress in terms of human and existential
conception, because suppressing a life or harming it is always a determined
choice if not premeditated for some time … Among the approximately 1o7 / 110
billion people who until now have populated the planet Earth, not a few to
various titles have had a role like yours, and therefore all united by that
sense of omnipotence and relative behavior that does not discount anyone and,
at this point, I ask you: how do you feel when you give certain orders to your
subordinates and that these do they report that they have carried out them by
presenting the bill for the day which consists of a certain number of deaths,
injuries and devastation of the common good? Do you think you have reached a
milestone to the point of guaranteeing an “added value” to your country, and
consequently of satisfying your Ego to the point of being elevated to
catharsis? If we think carefully about procuring the death of one of our fellow
men, who we can more appropriately define our brother, is not part of the plans
of any religion (apart from Islamic extremists …); moreover, what would he say
if such actions were to strike his dearest loved ones for the same reasons?
Whatever his answer, it would be difficult for me to believe it and even less
to discuss it, well aware that the neurons that control his thoughts, his
choices and his decisions, are the “mysterious pearls” with which he is
endowed, just like those we all possess us, with the difference that his have
lost clarity and value, turning into deadly weapons to weaken or suppress a
people. But it is not with war that war is fought, Mr. Putin, but with reason
and the effort to understand even those who are our enemies, while observing
the right of action in self-defense … Once someone said: “Qui sine sino est
vestrum, primus lapidem mittat “, so you, like myself and all our fellow men,
are not included in this Latin phrase, which has made the history of Humanity
in making us understand that everyone is wrong and commits sin towards oneself
and towards one’s neighbor , but with the imperative to remedy it and no longer
commit. And when this massacre ends, slow and costly will be the reconstruction
of a country which does not lack the solidarity of other peoples who, like me,
repudiate any war action with the right to live in compliance with the Laws of
Nature…! I conclude with a final question: are your current choices a right or
an inevitable conscious sin? If you answer me with the utmost objectivity, she
too is among those who are part of a certain group of Dante and, given the
severity of the supreme Dante, I leave you to decide which group to belong to …
without meeting at that time all those who have perished under its policy …
